The Coffins

Since 1999 the North has been plaqued by rock 'n' roll yet untouched by anyone with a snare fiddle or a tub bass. It all started with Kaka Mountain, still a legend in most Redneck communities, mainly inhabited by by Thalidomide babies and survivors of Fetal Alchohol Syndrome, but a legend nonetheless. In the early deuce thousands, Jozeph's Dad emerged and gave us the boot that added to the craze. With two original members of Kaka Mountain and one hobbyist of the snare fiddle and hollering stick. Famous for his little scene outside the cabin in Deliverance.

The three self proclaimed "retards" became the tightest and most efficient band in the North, playing at bush parties and at prom night abortions, circumstance and un-familiar doings wrong caused a perminant Hiatus to take effect.

Until few years ago Bush whackin music has been plagued by "what seemed cool at the time" with the likes of bands that will remain un-named. Inhabitants began to show progression in "social skills" and began to drink "socially" and turn to their chambers at a reasonably hour, abandoning their roots. Geographical influences and just plain alchohol induced boredum prompted The Coffins.

The Coffins have been together since 2006 and have been ear raping their way into the hearts of dozens. With a healthy dose of rockabilly, psychobilly and rock 'n' roll, the threesomes "house of ill repute" sounds mixed with crushing drunken slurring lyricism and "let's split a rape charge" attitude, bring a much needed dose off good times to the North.

As the Canadian Rockabilly-Psychobilly scene begins to flourish, Northern Rockabilly has been yet untouched, a mixture of Wild Turkey, masterbation , shear and utter loneliness are alone enough influence to be deemed a "proper" Northern Rockabilly band, but the bands foremasters are also sons of the North expaining their immense tolerance for alchohol and higher than expert level of self gratification. The contents of their songs such as "Slutty Girl" and "Go Home Tonight" show their origins as immature, un-succesful and sexually driven. With darker more "psycho" tunes such as "Nightmare in Daylight" and "The Darkness Surround" added with their stylings bring forth something yet to be heard or seen.

Currently the band is working hard on their writing and recording and will be playing shows at the local watering holes in the very near future. Their live presence is something to be seen as it is as previously stated, sexually and alchoholically driven and will, more than likely blow the clothes off of every man, woman and she-he (vice versa) in the radius. The North has yet to see the wrath of the Coffins. And will not be dissapointed. Be sure to keep a close eye on the dates section and to the myspace. For the recordings on there are very dated and poorly done.

And Again be prepared to be horrified, hornified and amazed and possibly impregnated. Stay tuned to CKLU 96.7am! Non-Sequiter Radio!
